Dallas police officer runs and writes
February 1, 2003

by Harry Hall

This article is a continuation of the article on Steve Elwonger in the February issue of ITR. For complete details on the Elwonger and his book, pick up a copy of the February issue of ITR. Subscribe to ITR today!

While his dad was working toward becoming a Sergeant in the Dallas Police force, Steve Elwonger was honing his skills as a track athlete at nearby North Mesquite High School, earning state rankings in the 800 meters and placing high in cross-country competition. Today, Steve is still running, and has followed his dad's footsteps in the police force. But he hasn't forgotten those who preceded him, and has written a book to honor those who lost their lives in the line of duty.

To purchase a copy of the book: In The Line of Duty, send $20 plus $3 shipping and handling to Police Press, P. O. Box 59777, Dallas, TX. All proceeds benefit the Dallas Police Widows and Orphans Fund, and Wish Upon A Star.
