Among the finishers in the women's 5k at the Turtle Creek Run
were sisters and walkers Agnes Ellsworth 82, and Louise Davis,
88. The two native Texans clocked 42:56 and 54:37 respectively
to place first and second in the 75-up age group."I've been doing this forever," said Louise, commenting on how
long she'd been walking. "I started walking when I lived in New York in 1967," said
Agnes, "that was long before it was popular. I did lots of
miles. People thought I was out of my mind." "We just walk 5ks," said Louise, "occasionally we might do 5
miles." "But no 10ks," added Agnes, "it would be dark by the time we
finished."
