The Sugar Land Fire Department and First Colony Community Association are excited to be hosting the 3rd Annual Fired Up 5K and Family/Youth Walk on Labor Day - Monday, September 5, 2005. Proceeds benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The certified and sanctioned route (TX 03509ETM) begins at the corner of Commonwealth Blvd. and Elkins Drive continuing through scenic parts of First Colony and ending in the bay of Fire Station #5.

The 5K run/walk begins promptly at 7:00 am (not 7:30 a.m.) and Family/Youth Walk will start at 7:45 am. Awards and prizes will be presented to the top three male and female 5K finishers in all 5-year age categories. The overall male/female and overall male/female masters will also be recognized. Ribbons will be awarded to all Family/Youth participants. Great door prizes will be drawn during the event, but be sure to stay for the post-race party since you must be present to win. Hooters of Sugar Land, Kolache Factory, Kroger, and Manhattan Bagels will provide post-race refreshments and food.

Join us for the annual Carbo-Loading Party on September 3 from 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm at Corelli's Italian Cafe (3229 Highway 6, Sugar Land). A free spaghetti lunch will be provided for individuals registering or picking up their race packet. A fire truck will be on display for tours.

Houstonian Lite will provide free one-day workout vouchers for those picking up packets or registering at their site on September 2 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Houstonian Lite is located at City Walk, Suite 200 in the new Sugar Land Town Square adjacent to the Marriott.

Race entry forms are available at the FCCA office, 4350 Austin Parkway (in front of the First Colony Aquatic Center), at Finish Line Sports in the shopping center at Sugar Creek, at the Houstonian Lite, Corelli's Italian Cafe, and area running stores.
