Austin Runners Club challenges all clubs in the Texas Running Club Championship
October 24, 2001

The Austin Runners Club is pleased to announce the first annual Texas Running Club Championship to be held in conjunction with The Decker Challenge, Austin, TX at 8 a.m. December 16, 2001.

This event is open to every running club and organization in the State of Texas (and any of the neighbor clubs from other states) to come and compete for the award of Texas State Running Club Champions.

The Decker Challenge, in its 23rd year, is one of the oldest races in the central Texas area. Run on a challenging 12 mile loop course in the hill country of east Austin and during the unpredictable weather of mid-December, it truly is a challenging and suitable course to crown the state champion running club of Texas.

The Austin Runners Club is also hosting "The Decker Cup," a meet and greet event to be held Saturday, December 15th, 4 - 6 p.m., at a local Austin dining and drinking establishment. This event will give all participating teams an opportunity to meet representatives of the other participating clubs and foster an esprit de corps amongst the Texas running community.
