The Roger Clemens Institute for Sports Medicine & Human
Performance at Memorial Hermann is the new title sponsor of the
health and fitness EXPO held in conjunction with the 2007
Chevron Houston Marathon. The Roger Clemens Institute EXPO at
the 2007 Chevron Houston Marathon will be held Jan. 12- 13 at
the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston. "This is a great opportunity to partner with an event that
exemplifies fitness and athletic performance," said Troy
Wenzel, executive director of Sports Medicine and Human
Performance at Memorial Hermann , "The EXPO is an important
part of the race experience for all participants, and gives
attendees a chance to learn more about health and wellness."
The EXPO attracts more than 40,000 attendees each year. The
event offers runners and consumers the opportunity to purchase
products, learn about wellness products and services, and
attend running-related informational sessions. The Roger
Clemens Institute for Sports Medicine & Human Performance will
sponsor the event for the next three years.
The new institute combines the medical specialties of sports
medicine, human performance and orthopedics for research and
treatment. Some of the services will include orthopedic
surgery, sports performance and enhancement research, training
and conditioning, education, rehabilitation and therapy,
nutritional counseling and sports psychology. The institute's
first facility will open in January 2007 in the Medical Plaza
adjacent to the Memorial Hermann campus in the Texas Medical
Center.
