"We see a definite niche for both publications in the running
and multi-sport market and will continue Inside Texas Running on
its regular publishing schedule," said Loran R. Sheffer,
publisher of Runner Triathlete News. Along with purchasing ownership of Inside Texas Running, the new
ownership also acquired the popular magazine web site
www.insidetexasrunning.com and TexStats, which serves as the
official road running record keeper for the state of Texas. Both publications are based in Houston. Joanne C. Schmidt, who
has been publisher/editor of ITR for its entire 24 years of
existence, plans to pursue other endeavors. She will continue
to work with the publication until the transaction has been
fully assimiliated into the acquiring organization. Runner Triathlete News has been publishing for 17 years. RTN
covers the running and multi-sport events in the five-state area
of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. # # #

HOUSTON, August 13, 2001: Runner Triathlete News (RTN)
has purchased Inside Texas Running (ITR), a staple on the Texas
running scene for over 24 years. The sale is effective
immediately with the September 2001 issue being published under
the new ownership.
