Memorial Park Master Plan meeting set for August 10
August 9, 2004

Dear HARRA Members,
On Wednesday, August 10th, the Quality of Life Committee of City Council, chaired by Council Member Pam Holm, will include a presentation of the Memorial Park Master Plan on its agenda. The meeting will be held at 10 AM in the City Council Chambers. After the presentation, there will be an opportunity for comments from the public. As most of you are aware, a tremendous amount of time and money has gone into this plan. Now that it is back before City Council it gives us the opportunity to let City Council know how important this plan is to the runners and walkers in Houston.

The new plan is shorter than the initial plan and does not include recommendations to remove recreational ball fields. If you have not seen the new plan they can be viewed at the following addresses:

I hope that you have the time to review the plan and become aware of the changes since the plan was presented to the Quality of Life Committee in the fall of 2003. Also, and I realize the short notice, attending the meeting tomorrow would be extremely helpful. The Master Plan significantly impacts the runners and walkers of Houston and your help is needed.
