At the IAAF Council meetings in Berlin, November 22-23, the
entry standards
for the 2004 Athens Olympics were finalized. The Olympic "A"
and "B"
standards per gender for the marathon were adjusted to the
slower times
below. MEN -- 2:15:00 (A), 2:18:00 (B)
The United States now has 13 men and 14 women who have run the
Olympic
Marathon "A" time standard (window opened September 1, 2002).
