Run for the Arts serves as HARRA Fall 10 Mile Championships
August 29, 2001
The October 2000 10 mile Championship was a great success and
was rated by HARRA as the best race in Houston. This was made
possible by the dedication of volunteers. However, without the
runners there would not been an event. The Run For The Arts
Committee has been working on the event since February and is
geared to put on a good show this Fall. Please come and enjoy
their hospitality.
The 7th Annual Run for the Arts is hosted by BARRA and
benefiting the Center for the Arts and Sciences. The 10 mile is
back on the faster and certified course of 1996. The course
records are held by, respectively, Eric Polanski and Carmen
Troncoso.
There are race premiums at 5K, 10K and 15K. In addition, there
will be cash awards for open men & women plus master's men &
women. The age group awards are 5 years and 5 deep up to 70
years. All participants will receive a T-shirt. Other races include the Wholesale Electric 5K and the BASF kids
run. Both the 10 mile and 5K races start at the Center for the
Arts and Sciences, 400 College Drive, Clute, Texas, 77531, at
8:00 a.m.
Mail in entry forms or register online, entry forms will also be
