Registration is open for the 18th annual 10K/5K ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run, which will take place on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005.

The registration fee is $20 until Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005 and $25 thereafter.

This Saturday, February 5 - register in person and pick up your race packet at the Kroger store, 9919 Westheimer (9am - 2pm: phone 713 532-5566) for a chance to win a Continental Airlines ticket.

Register online by February 20 for additional opportunities to win a Continental Airlines ticket and Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Carnival Tickets (see website for details) .

Some 6,000 participants are expected to dash through the streets of downtown to lead the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo(tm) (HLSR) Parade past thousands of spectators. Beginning at the corner of Texas and Smith streets, the wheelchair race will start at 9:45 a.m. and the 10K race and 5K fun run/walk will follow at 9:50 a.m. The events finish with a Texas-sized post- race party at Minute Maid Park, packed with family fun, food, live music and valuable giveaways.

The post-race party will be better than ever with drawings to give away including a trip and accommodations for two to the National Final Rodeo in Las Vegas, NV compliments of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo(tm), 4 single roundtrip airline tickets courtesy of Continental Airlines, $200 worth of groceries provided by Kroger, a pair of box seats to an Astros game provided by the Houston Astros, Gasoline gift cards from ConocoPhillips and a $50 Landry's gift card compliments of BKD LLP.

Since its inception, the ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run has raised nearly $1.4 million for the HLSR Educational Fund, with $115,000 raised in 2004.
