For the fourth year running, the Southwestern Sunbathing Association is sponsoring its SWSA Nude Racing Series. This unique series is a sequence of 5 kilometer cross country events where runners may race unfettered by clothing (running shoes recommended). This year's Series boasts races at six clubs across Oklahoma and Texas.

Runners compete in age and gender categories and must finish at least four of these races to be eligible for the series awards. During this series, runners will accumulate points at each race they attend. More points are awarded to those who finish early within an age group than to those who finish later within the same age group. At the end of the series, the points from each runner's four best races are totaled and the SWSA will present overall and age-group "Series" awards to those with the highest point totals.

Although many runners compete for points and awards, these are scores who choose to run nude just for the sheer fun of it.

Each club participating in the Series organizes and stages its own race. The 2001 SWSA Nude Racing Series begins March 31 with the Sahnoan Bare Buns Run Cross-Country 5K at Star Ranch near McDade, Texas, and concludes on October 13 with the Trail of Tears 5K Run, Walk, Crawl at Oaklake Trails near Depew, Oklahoma.
