Runners kick off Turkey Day at GE Run Thru the Woods
October 2, 2007

Thousands of runners from all across Texas will kick off their Thanksgiving festivities by participating in the GE Run Thru the Woods run and walk. The annual Thanksgiving charity event features a competitive five-mile run, a new teen three-mile run, and the always popular three-mile walk and one-mile kids run.

The activities will be staged at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, just north of Houston, on November 22.

The 18th Annual GE Run thru the Woods is an annual race/walk fundraiser designed for all ages, all levels of fitness and running skills. The event benefits youth charities of South Montgomery County. More than 4500 participants are expected at the 2007 event. Cash awards for the overall top three finishers in the five-mile race, male and female. All three runs are chip timed. New this year . . . complimentary pancake breakfast available for all participants.

More information and online registration is now available at www.runthruthewoods.org.
