What is Texstats?
Texstats is the official state recordkeeper for Texas road
racing, recognized as such by the Road Running Information
Center of USA Track and Field. Inside Texas Running magazine is
a patron of Texstats, and will publish State records and
State "bests" on a regular basis both in its print publication
and this website.
Even low-key, small events run on certified courses should
report their results. According to the USATF Road Running
Information Center, "most events have at least
one national ranking or state record."
Race directors: If your event has USATF course
certification, you owe it to your runners to submit results for
record consideration. For information on how to properly submit
your results, please read
"How to submit your event's results to TexStats and Inside
Texas Running". Request an "Application For The Recognition of Road Race
Performances" by sending your name and address to Lance Phegley,
Texas State Recordkeeper, P.O. Box 19909, Houston, TX 77224 or
via e-mail at rtnews@ix.netcom.com. You
may also request these forms from the USA Track & Field Road
Running Information Center, 5522 Camino Cerralvo, Santa Barbara,
CA 93111-1003.
Texstats forwards all submitted results with application forms
to the Road Running Information Center.
